Unity Candle Ceremony : How it is done....

* Please note : It is not a requirement to have and to light the Unity Candle set in Church. Please do check with the Church's priest or pastor. It can also be done at the beginning of the wedding banquet dinner, after R.O.M. Solemnization or just with both families.

The ceremony symbolizes the pledge of unity between the bride & groom and the merging of two families. Usually, the parents or guardians of bride & groom will light the tapers and hand these to the bridal couple. The bridal couple then lit the center large candle together. Thereafter, they will extinguish their tapers, symbolizing the end of their single lives but united as One in marriage.

Symbolism on parents lighting the tapers : The lighted tapers symbolize their single lives (bridal couple) with their parents to this moment, reminding them of the faith, wisdom and love they have received from their parents.

Symbolism on bridal couple lighting the center candle : The lighted center candle means one light burns undivided, so shall their love be One with God and each other undivided. From now on, their thoughts shall be for each other rather than for their individual selves. Their pledge to share their joys and cares as One.

During Anniversaries, the ceremony can be done all over again by the couple and when the children have arrived, allow them to light the Unity Candle together as a family. Separate similar personalized tapers or plain ones can be used.

Kindly note : due to the high increased price of raw palm wax, the prices of the candles have been adjusted higher. If the prices are down, we'll likewise decrease the prices of candles.

Unity Sand Sets

Unity Sand Ceremony : How it is done....

* Please note : it is likely that churches will not allow this. It can be done at the beginning of the wedding banquet dinner (especially outdoor banquet), after R.O.M. Solemnization or just with both families.

The ceremony symbolizes the pledge of unity between the bride & groom and the merging of two families. Usually, the parents or guardians of bride & groom will pour the sand (contained in 2 separate jars/glasses) into the middle Unity Glass to about half or three-quarter of the glass. The bridal couple then pour their slim vases of sand alternatively or one to complete pouring and the other to top it up, symbolizing the end of their single lives but merged as One in marriage.

Symbolism on parents pouring sand into the Unity Glass : This participation by the parents/guardians symbolizes the single lives of the bridal couple with their parents/guardians to this moment, reminding them of the faith, wisdom and love they have received from their parents/guardians.

Symbolism on bridal couple pouring sand into the Unity Glass : This action symbolizes their willingness to merge their two lives together and so shall their love be One with God and each other undivided. From now on, their thoughts shall be for each other rather than for their individual selves. Their pledge to share their joys and cares as One.

During Anniversaries, the ceremony can be done all over again by the couple with new portion of sand and when the children have arrived, allow them to participate in the pouring of sand into the Unity Glass together as a family. Separate similar personalized slim vases, plain ones or simple cups can be used.
